Local production
Disney Channel is committed to localisation with production of original, creative local content that reflects the lives of local kids and families. A key local production in Asia Pacific is As the Bell Rings, which is based on Disney Channel Italy’s hugely successful concept Quelli d’ell Intervalo, about what happens during recess in the hallway between classes. From school crushes, gossip, exams and teachers, the comedy series explores diverse and relatable themes as seen through the eyes of high school students. In China, this series debuted in August 2007 on Dragon Club and is now in its second season. As the Bell Rings has also been successfully adapted in Australia and Singapore (on StarHub Mobile). In India, Break Time Masti Time (the local version of As the Bell Rings) is confirmed for a 26-episode production for season one.
