AXN seals “Got Talent” trifecta with new FremantleMedia deal

Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia has added FremantleMedia’s “America’s Got Talent” and “Britain’s Got Talent” to AXN’s line up.

The two new properties, along with rights to season three of “Asia’s Got Talent”, uniting the three biggest versions of the show on a single pay-TV channel for the first time.

The multi-year licensing deal, announced as this year’s MIP TV wraps in Cannes, gives Sony a “Got Talent” trifecta for the first time. “Britain’s Got Talent” premieres this Sunday (15 April), followed by “America’s Got Talent” in May.

The two shows were previously on the former RTL CBS Entertainment channel in Asia, along with “American Idol”, which Sony has also picked up and airs within 12 hours of the U.S. broadcast.
