WarnerMedia’s HBO Go goes it alone in the Philippines

WarnerMedia rolled out its commercial push for standalone direct-to-consumer streaming app HBO Go in the Philippines today.

Monthly subscription is Ps149/US$2.90 a month with a seven-day free trial and simultaneous access capability for two streams across five devices.

Clement Schwebig, WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks MD for Southeast Asia, Pacific and China, described the standalone service as a “natural evolution”.

In addition to on-demand content, the app features all six of HBO Asia’s linear channels.

The service has download functions for up to 20 pieces of content as well as Airplay and Chromecast functionality.

HBO Go is available in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
