Netflix has unveiled 17 new original productions out of Asia for 2019, including shows from Japan, Taiwan,Thailandand South Korea as well as nine new projects from India.
The new titles includefive anime titlesand season two of Korean drama “Kingdom”.
“Kingdom” season one premieres on Netflix on 25 January 2019.
Chinese-language originals include Neal Wu’s “Triad Princess” from MM2 and Goodfilms Workshop.
Details of the India originals will be announced tomorrow on the second day of the streaming platform’s first content showcase in Singapore.
Netflix chief executive, Reed Hastings, said at this morning’s opening that the original joined more than 100 new and returning series and specials across eight Asian countries in 2019 “as Netflix increases its investment in Asian storytellers, amplifying their voices to the world”.
