The first Cinesilip Film Festival – backed by Viva’s film production group and Ayala Malls Cinemas – opens on 22 October. 

The seven films screening during the week-long event include Gian Arre’s coming of age drama, "Ang Lihim ni Maria Makinang" ("The Secret of Maria Makinang"), about a young woman who appears only during the full moon; and Rhance Añonuevo-Cariño’s erotic dramedy, "Babae Sa Butas" ("The Woman In The Hole"), about a tricycle driver who experiences a passionate encounter with a mysterious woman. 

Introducing the event, festival director Ronald Arguelles said the films chosen were “risky, bold and different”.
