EXCLUSIVE: Pierre Cheung exits ViacomCBS; no replacement announced and new Asia structure unclear
01 October 2021

ViacomCBS' senior vice president and general manager for Asia, Pierre Cheung, is exiting the Singapore-based Asia operation after six years, ContentAsia learned yesterday (Thursday, 30 September 2021).

The U.S.-based regional programmer had not commented on the leadership change in Asia as of this evening.

It’s not yet clear whether Cheung will be replaced or what the region’s new management or structure will look like, but all indications are that his exit is part of a broad reorg around a stronger focus on streaming.

Cheung, who was upped to his current role about 18 months ago, reported to Raffaele Annecchino, president of ViacomCBS Networks Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia.
