Fremantle opened ATF today with a raft of scripted sales across Asia led by action-adventure series, “Sandokan: The Pirate Prince”, which has been picked up by Rewind Networks for its pan-regional Asia channel HITS NOW, Hulu (Japan) and LG U+ (South Korea).
“Hotel Costiera”, starring Jesse Williams as a former Marine drawn into a missing-person mystery on the Amalfi Coast, has also gone to Rewind Networks for HITS NOW and LG U+, with an additional landing on Star Entertainment in India.
Also heading to Asia is chase drama “The Iris Affair”, a Sky Original thriller from Neil Cross (“Luther”), which will launch on BBC First and BBC Player (pan-regional Asia) and WOWOW (Japan).
In Hong Kong, Now TV has acquired a slate of flagship dramas, including psychological thriller “Little Disasters”, romantic comedy “Film Club”, drama “The Rumour”, and “Daddy Issues” Season 2.
In total, LG U+ acquired over 70 hours of dramas, including new and catalogue titles such as adventure drama “The Luminaries” and Paolo Sorrentino’s “The Young Pope” and “The New Pope” starring Jude Law as Lenny Belardo, Pope Pius XIII.
