June 2026 Release for PCCW Media's "The Season"; First Look Video Showcased at Filmart in Hong Kong
18 March 2026

PCCW Media's premium drama series "The Season" premieres globally in June 2026 on streaming platform Viu, Hulu/Disney+ in the U.S. only, and Now TV in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong-based company said today, showcasing in-room-only first-look footage along with a live cast discussion. The series was announced at Filmart 2025.

The six-part revenge drama, filmed in Hong Kong and produced with SK Global ("Crazy Rich Asians"), is about a newcomer (played by Jessie Mei Li) with a hidden agenda who sets in motion a series of events that threatens to shatter the fabric of high society.

Fremantle leads international sales, with the support from De Maio Entertainment.

Jessie Mei Li, Toby Stephens, Karena Lam and Chris Pang joined showrunner Yalun Tu ("NCIS: Hawaii) at today's event.

"I just keep getting cast as a rich Asian person," Chris Pang, who plays the sharp-witted "new money" Andrew Fung in the series.

Pang talked about growing up in Australia and his early engagement with Hong Kong cinema.

Janice Lee, CEO, PCCW Media Group & Viu and Agatha Lo serve as executive producers for PCCW Media. The series is executive produced for SK Global by Chloe Dan, EVP, Head of Television, alongside Matt Aragachi and Dylan Tarason.

Janice Lee, CEO, PCCW Media Group & Viu, today described the series as "a story of redemption".
