Kadokawa, Sony silent on acquisition talks
26 November 2024

There is no further news on the possible Sony Group acquisition of Japanese publishing giant Kadokawa Corp since the 20 Novemer disclosure that an initial letter of intent had been received.

In a short note to the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Kadokawa chief executive, Takeshi Natsuno, confirmed receipt of the letter.

“No decision has been made at this time,” he said.

The note followed a Reuters report that Sony was in talks to acquire the company. Kadokawa’s share price has jumped more than 35% in the past month.
