Singapore's first scripted collaboration with Japanese public broadcaster NHK – the six-episode drama "Lost and Found" – has started filming in Tokyo. The adventure series is scheduled to air on Japanese public broadcaster NHK and on Singapore's Mediacorp in mid-March 2026 as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Shot in Japanese and English, "Lost and Found" is about an introverted Singaporean gamer (played by Shawn Thia) whose world is upended when his online Japanese girlfriend disappears. In his quest to find her in Tokyo, he aligns with new-found Japanese gamer friend (played by Anna Yamada) and the two become embroiled in Tokyo's web of scams, trafficking and illegal workers.
Global distribution will be handled by Empire of Arkadia (EOA), which is also one of the collaboration partners along with Japanese production house TV Man Union (TVU) and Singapore's Mocha Chai Laboratories.
The series received funding from Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority's (IMDA) international co-production grant, and is part of NHK's bid to expand its scripted footprint internationally.
The show was created and is executive produced by EOA's Fotini Paraskakis and Mocha Chai's Michelle Chang. NHK's executive producer for the project is Rishi Endo and TVU's is Hiromitsu Sugita.
