Lee Se-young and Sakaguchi Kentaro to star in Coupang Play’s new K-drama, “What Comes After Love”; Korean platform reports 420% leap in “Boyhood” viewership week-on-week
05 December 2023

Lee Se-young and Sakaguchi Kentaro are starring in Korean platform, Coupang Play’s, new original scripted series, “What Comes After Love”, the platform confirmed from Seoul today.

The new series, based on a novel by Gong Ji-yeong and Hitonari Tsuji, is a story of love and separation about two people who fall in love in Japan and reunite in Korea five years after they break up.

The series is directed and co-written by Moon Hyun-sung (“Seoul Vibe”) with Jung Jeong-shim and produced by Silverlining Studio and Contents Seven.

“What Comes After Love” releases in 2024. The date has not been confirmed.

“What Comes After Love” follows the 10-episode "Boyhood", set in Chungcheong-do in the late '80s, and brain battle survival show, "Elite League”, which showcases the top 1% of geniuses from Korea's prestigious universities.

Coupang Play said this morning that viewership of "Boyhood” had soared 420% in the second week of its release.

The series is about a high school wimp Byung-tae (played by Yim Si-wan), who unexpectedly becomes a top dog after a series of trivial misunderstandings.

“Boyhood”, which premiered on 24 November, was directed by Lee Myung-Woo and produced by The Studio M.

Episodes five and six release this coming Friday (8 Dec) at 8pm.
