Singapore’s Mediacorp and Taiwan’s Mission International have turned their woolly two-year-old MoU into a real deal on a fantasy romance set in Singapore and Taiwan.
Today’s announcement – the first between the two companies – follows the co-production focus at the ContentAsia Summit in Taiwan last week, and is part of a growing body of cross-border alliances expected in the next year.
Helmed by legendary producer Angie Chai 柴智屏, “My Cosmic Love” 夜行男神 (working title) is about an alien who inhabits the body of a young man, later discovering that genuine relationships depend on mutual love and trust, and raising the question of whether he will succeed in his mission or discover true love.
Production is scheduled to begin in 2026 and will be filmed in Singapore and Taiwan.
Chai’s previous hits include teen idol drama “Meteor Garden” 流星花园. She also launched boyband F4 and Dylan Wang 王鹤棣.
The deal was driven by Mediacorp’s chief content officer, Virginia Lim, as part of Mediacorp’s ex-Singapore outreach, and by Chai as chairman and CEO of Mission International.
