Singapore’s Mediacorp is returning flagship Malay talent discovery competition – "Anugerah" – this year after a five-year hiatus.
The 10-week show, which launched originally in 2001, debuts on 25 August on online platform meWatch and linear channel Suria, with digital exclusive content on TikTok, Mediacorp's branded YouTube destinations and social media platforms.
The tagline for the new edition, unveiled today, is "This Generation Hits Different".
Online submissions run from 11 to 29 May, followed by live auditions on 6, 7 and 13 June.
Entries are open to singing talent between 16 and 30 years old.
The 30 finalists will compete for the grand prize of S$25,000, awarded during the finale on 27 October.
The show is hosted by radio personality Fadli Kamsani and actress Lydia Asyiqin.
The last edition of “Anugerah” aired in April 2021, with resident judges Najip Ali and Ann Hussein.
"Anugerah" has been the launch pad for Singapore’s most prominent Malay talents, including Aliff Aziz, Eka Mairina, Fauzie Laily, Hyrul Anuar, Syed Azmir, Iskandar Ismail, Azra Zulaikha, O.M.A (One Metre Apart), Sarah Aqilah and Sunny Jackson.
