TOHO Global's one-year-old Singapore-based subsidiary, TOHO Entertainment Asia (TEA), has sealed an Asia-wide (ex Japan, Korea) co-merchandise licensing partnership with MUSE for anime series "Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End" season 2. The series premiered in Japan on Friday (16 January 2026), with releases to follow on streaming platforms including Singapore's meWatch, Netflix and Crunchyroll.
Today's announcement comes as TEA "formally transitions" to directly managing anime merchandise sales as part of its regional growth strategy.
Fabio Murayama, TEA MD, said in the announcement that the agreement marked the start of TEA's direct handling of anime merchandise sales in the region.
“By bringing these capabilities in-house, we are able to work more closely with partners, sharpen our regional strategy, and accelerate the growth of our anime business across Asia," he said.
TEA, which was established in Singapore in November 2024 as a base for TOHO's Asia expansion, said the licensing roadmap for the new series is in development.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End" S2 is set in a world where the Demon King has been defeated, and the elf mage Frieren, who lived over a thousand years alongside the hero Himmel, embarks on a journey to “understand the human heart” after his passing. Joined by the young mage Fern and the warrior Stark, she travels toward the land where souls rest, Aureole.
