GagaOOLala expands into vertical series; Taiwan-based LGBTQ+ streamer eyes 20-series launch
Taiwan-based global streamer GagaOOLala is adding vertical series to its LGBTQ+ line-up. Talking about the decision to embrace the booming format, GagaOOLala founder Jay Lin told ContentAsia: “Nine years on, we are encountering something transformational.” About 12 series have been acquired so far from Thailand, Taiwan and Japan. “Unforgettable Duet” tops MBN slot; prime-time Korean entertainment series draws attention to dementia
Korean entertainment series "Unforgettable Duet" premiered to a peak rating of 2.14% in Korea on 5 November, making it the top-rated show in the timeslot among pay-TV networks (AGB Neilsen, Household). The show won Silver in the Best Factual Entertainment Programme Produced for a Single Asia Market category at this year’s ContentAsia Awards. ▶ Read the full story here

Rescue drama @ Mediacorp, Sky Limit; Singapore, Taiwan move forward on script development
Singapore’s Mediacorp and Taiwanese production house Sky Limit Pictures are moving forward on co-developing the script for emergency rescue premium drama, “Lives at Stake” (EMT 救援事件簿). The 12 x 45-minute US$3.84-million drama was part of the TCCF series pitch in Taipei last week as “Rescue Life”. In the eight-minute pitch, the producers said this was “not just a TV drama” and highlighted its potential as a multiple IP property. ▶ Read the full story here
