News reports and comment about Indonesian mogul Hary Tanoesoedibjo and his MNC media conglomerate are flooding social media feeds and news platforms as separate long- and longer-running cases resurface, and speculation runs rampant about plunges in MNC Group company share prices. Somewhere in the middle of robust social media activity about the how, the why and the karma, financial voices say the share-price crash is the result of the Indonesia Stock Exchange’s adjusted trading price rules, which came into effect at the end of September. Astro Swings to US$7M Net Loss, Focus on Adjacent Biz; Countdown to No-contract Packs as Consumer Viewing Habits Continue to Shift
Astro Malaysia Holdings continues to court post-pay-TV consumers, dropping contract requirements from its new low-cost X3 pack from December 2026 and focusing on strengthening adjacent businesses, particularly streaming service Sooka. iQiyi’s AI Films Hit RMB8 Million; Chinese Streamer Promotes AIGC Benefits
iQiyi’s AI film series “The Ferry Man” passed RMB 8 million (US$1.2 million) in cumulative revenue-sharing box office as of 23 September, the Chinese streamer says. The disclosure coincides with the release of the third instalment – “The Ferry Man: The Dream of the Princess” – on both domestic and international services. The first two films, “The Ferry Man: Butterfly Dream” and “The Ferry Man: The Dream of the Celestial Maiden” – both produced by iQiyi and Singapore-listed production house GHY Culture & Media – launched simultaneously on 22 August on both platforms. ▶ Read the full story here
