Broadcasters across Asia have added a bouquet of factual titles, including history, travel, gastronomy and natural history to their line-ups in pre-MIPCOM deals announced today with Harbour Rights.
In Hong Kong, Phoenix TV acquired “Switzerland: Hitler’s Bankers”, a 52-minute special that reviews World War II from the perspective of economics, and explains how the war might have ended in 1943 had Switzerland not recycled the gold looted by the Nazis throughout Europe and France.
Discovery Networks Asia Pacific bought another episode of “Flavor Series – Bali, The Jewel Of Indonesia”, as well as the Iman Corinne-hosted six-part half-hour series “Tribal Kitchen” about the daily lives and evolving culture of Malaysia's indigenous people. The Singapore-based regional network also bought Thai PBS’ “Aroi Mark”, which explores Thai food culture.
In Japan, Discovery Japan picked up Curiosity Stream’s “Superpredators”, which looks at nature's ultimate animal hunters.
