Cambodian Broadcasting Service (CBS) is counting down to its first physical challenge competition, the home-grown “RedBull Power”, which premieres on free TV channel CTN on Saturday (12 July) with a simulcast on Facebook Live
New 90-minute episodes drop weekly.
The 14-episode original format was created by CBS’ Camwood Studios.
The show is shot at the CBS-linked Camwood Studios, moving to locations such as Kirirom Mountain for some episodes.
Co-executive producers and directors are Ly OnzeMardy and Nim Channa.
The best of the 25 original contestants takes home a US$25,000 prize and the champion’s title.
“RedBull Power” could herald a new direction for CBS/Camwood Studios, which is prepping format rights for international adaptation, according to Cambodian Broadcasting Service (CBS) CEO, Dave Ulmer.
“RedBull Power” follows the blockbuster premiere of Banijay Rights’ “MasterChef Cambodia” in June, and the beginnings of a plan to build a global production destination. The new season broke viewership records for its premiere on Sunday, 8 June, with 1.1 million organic views on Facebook Live, the platform of choice for the Phnom Penh-based broadcaster.
