Korea’s CJ ENM will launch AI film and drama production before the end of this year, the Seoul-based media conglomerate said today following the debut of AI animated non-verbal 30-episode short-form series, “Cat Biggie”.
Presenting its plans, CJ ENM said it was applying AI tech to creative works “to reshape the future ecosystem”, and that “creativity is key, even in AI content”.
The strategy was showcased at the 2025 CJ ENM Culture Talk in Seoul today.
“We are applying AI across the entire content value chain – including planning, production, distribution, and marketing – to expand AI content production across genres and formats. This allows us to secure next-generation IP,” said chief strategy officer, Shin Keun-sup.
He also said the company was “nurturing a new generation of creators equipped with AI technology, business, and content planning expertise”.
Proprietary AI production systems already in use include “Cinematic AI” – a system CJ ENM says is optimised for narrative content such as drama and film and which integrates image, video, sound and voice – and AI Script, a system “designed to help discover original IP”.
