Singapore’s Mediacorp premieres its first “shoppertainment” microdrama – “LOVE Angels” (最爱 Angels) – on Monday (19 Oct), testing the waters on the scripted storytelling-to-sales path.
Produced by Singapore’s Wawa Pictures, “LOVE Angels” is a comedy caper about a routine spy mission that goes disastrously wrong when Agent No. 1 disappears and a trio of veteran operatives set out in search of answers, only to uncover a conspiracy that threatens the agency.
New episodes release every weekday across LOVE 972’s TikTok, Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as streaming platform mewatch and the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube channel.
Mediacorp said today that the 20-episode series takes a deliberately tongue-in-cheek approach, with characters at times breaking the fourth wall to speak directly to audiences about featured products.
The campaign, which involves six brand partners, runs across radio, digital, free-to-air TV, social media and live commerce, with products written directly into its plot and relationships.
