[By Patrick Frater] Singapore’s Mediacorp has joined forces with China’s Linmon Media to produce new drama series, “Only Thirty Five”. The show is a sequel to “Nothing But Thirty”, which drew more than 5.5 billion views on Tencent Video and held the top spot for 21 consecutive days. The series was adapted for local audiences in Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and Korea.
“’Only Thirty-Five’ promises to bring fresh depth and contemporary relevance to the beloved story”, said Linmon.
The co-venture between Linmon and Mediacorp was officially signed this afternoon during the ATF, and followed last year’s MoU, also during the ATF. The production is supported by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
Set across both China and Singapore, the Chinese-language show will bring together artistes from both countries and be filmed across both locations beginning in 2026. Details of cast and director were not disclosed.
The story about the power of second chances follows Gu Jia, who decides to start over in a new city after turning 35. Confident yet introspective, she joins forces with Jiang Lili, a resilient business leader rebuilding her life after overcoming a difficult period. Their unlikely partnership evolves into a story of trust, empathy, and renewal as they launch a new corporation.
“Partnering with Linmon Media brings together complementary creative strengths to shape a sequel that remains authentic and relevant”, said Mediacorp’s chief content officer Virginia Lim.
“Overseas market expansion is a long-term strategic priority for Linmon Media, and we are committed to growing together with local markets and partners”, said Linmon Media’s chairman and founder Su Xiao.
“The co-creation concept breaks the one-way nature of traditional cultural output: on the one hand, we export China's mature creative concepts and industry standards to Singapore and other regions”.
