Bangkok-based JKN Global Group is moving closer to oblivion, ending years of high drama as flamboyant transgender owner Anne Jakrajutatip migrated the Thai programmer/broadcaster into the world of global beauty pageants as the owner of the Miss Universe Organisation.
Creditors have been given until 1 December to file claims with the official receiver in terms of the Central Bankruptcy Court absolute receivership order. The notice was published in the Royal Gazette on 1 October.
The Official Receiver alone now has the power to manage JKN’s business and assets.
Meanwhile, the show seems to be going on for the Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico in about 6 weeks time, albeit with a tussle between two warring organisations – present online at the traditional domain at missuniverse.com and the newly set-up missuniverseorg.com – over official website domains, social media accounts, and authority to choose the 2027 host country.
A note published by the Miss Universe Organisation (missuniverseorg.com) on Friday (9 Oct) says that the missuniverse.com domain and other social media accounts historically associated with the Organisation are “currently under the unauthorised control of individuals outside its legitimate administration”.
“Any content published through those channels does not represent the official position of the Miss Universe Organisation. Appropriate legal actions have been initiated to recover control of these assets,” it said.
The notice came a day after the missuniverse.com site announced Vietnam as the host country of the 76th Miss Universe Competition in 2027. The site is managed by the Legacy Holding Group, S.A. de C.V., defined as “MU East”.
missuniverseorg.com has dismissed the Vietnam claim, saying the venue for next year will be announced in Puerto Rico.
The source of the conflicting power centres appears to be in a commercial and financial structure set up by JKN that gave JKN Universe LLC rights to generate and collect revenue connected with the pageant, “including appli...

The source of the conflicting power centres appears to be in a commercial and financial structure set up by JKN that gave JKN Universe LLC rights to generate and collect revenue connected with the pageant, “including applicable global broadcast and retransmission fees, global sponsorship arrangements and global digital monetization”.
JKN was founded in 2013 in Thailand to distribute films, series and documentaries. The company also ran digital TV channels and managed the Miss Universe license business.
